Abstract:
REFFI MISRA, NIM 1730104059 , thesis title "STUDENTS' OPINION TOWARD INTERPRETATION CLASS ACTIVITIES", Department of Tadris English, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Batusangkar. The problem of this research is that have not been described the students' opinions toward of Interpretation class activities. The purpose of this study was to find out the students’ opinion toward the contribution of Interpretation class activities on their oral communication skills. The type of this reseach of is qualitative research. The informants English students department who have taken Interpretation subject. Academic Year 2019/2020, which was selected using a purposive sampling technique. In this study there are two instruments, the researcher acts as the key instrument and the interview guide as a supporting instrument. Data collection technique is to conduct in-depth interviews. To test the validity of the data, the researchers triangulated. Furthermore, data analysis is carried out by reducing data, displaying data, verifying data and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed students' opinions toward activities in the Interpretation class activities, that is; 1) cope with stress and self-control, 2) differences in the perception of words, 3) difficult in using grammatical redundancies, 4) improving students vocabulary, 5) helping students communicate concepts from a source language, 6) building student confidence, 7) improving students critical thinking, 8) making students be able to good interpreter
