Abstract:
As a pre-service teacher, teaching practice is important for English teachers to gain knowledge and skills.The problem of this research was pre-service teacher got problems in teaching online during COVID-19 pandemics.The purpose of this research was to show and describe problems that faced by pre-service teacher in teaching online during pandemics.The method of this research was qualitative research by using case study research.The data of the research was students in university of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar who have followed the field practice experience during pandemic. The data of this research was depth interview and interview transcript.The data sources of this research were 8 transcript documents that consist of some problems in teaching online during COVID-19 by using online platform. The results showed that there were 10 problems indicating in teaching online during COVID-19 pandemic.There are: not all students have supporting facilities in online learning, lack of interaction between students and teachers, lack of interaction between teachers and students, lack of response from students while studying, problems with signals that make online learning not optimal, students difficult in adapting to online learning,teachers difficult in adapting to online learning,there are some students are dependent on the use of applications in learning, there are some students who lack knowledge in the use of technology and learning objectives are not achieved.Based on the result above, it was suggested for the students to improve the ability to adapting in online learning,and increase capacity in the use of technology for learning well.
