dc.description.abstract The problem in this study is that the variety of student perceptions is not yet known after presenting an online seminar proposal by students of the English Tadris Department at UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar for the 2021/2022 academic year. The purpose of this study is to describe students' perceptions based on their experiences of online seminar proposal activities by the English Tadris Department at UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar for the 2021/2022 academic year. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using case study design. The informants of this research are students majoring in English Tadris for the 2021/2022 academic year who have carried out and presented online seminar proposals totaling eight people selected using purposive sampling techniques. In this study, the researcher functioned as a key instrument. The instrument used to collect interviews is an interview guide. To test the validity of the data, researchers conducted a time triangulation of the data by comparing the first and second interviews. Furthermore, to analyze the data, researchers use the theory of Miles and Huberman (2011), namely by reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that student perceptions after carrying out and presenting in online seminar proposals caused Positive and Negative perceptions due to several factors with a total of ten perceptions grouped into two: the first was due to positive perceptions; Reduce anxiety, save time and save money. The second is due to negative perception; Anxiety, lack of exercise, lack of vocabulary, pronunciation and grammatical errors, vocabulary addition and pronunciation, problems in using the Zoom application, poor weather and connections and difficulty to control the situation around. Online proposal seminar activities are also preferred by students compared to offline proposal seminars.
