dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT TANIA RAHMIZA PUTRI, NIM 1830104074, thesis title: "STUDENTS’ OPINION TOWARD THE USE OF MEDIA IN MICRO TEACHING CLASS". English Tadris study program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Islamic State Universty (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem discussed in this study is that the students' opinions on the use of media in the Microteaching class that have not yet been described. The purpose of this study was to reveal students' opinions on the use of media in the Microteaching class. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The informants of this research were 8 students who had taken Microteaching courses in the sixth semester of the 2021/2022 academic year using purposive sampling technique. In this study there were two instruments, the researcher acted as the key instrument and the interview guide as a supporting instrument. The data collection technique is an in-depth interview technique. To test the validity of the data, the researcher conducted time triangulation to confirm and explore more detailed data related to the problem under study. Furthermore, to analyze the data, the researcher used the theory of Miles and Huberman in Sugiyono (2010:337), which includes data reduction, data presentation, data verification and drawing conclusions. Based on data analysis, the results show that there were several students’ opinions on the use of media in the Microteaching class. The results of this study were divided into five groups (1) General opinions on the use of media in the microteaching class. The media is very helpful in explaining the material, the media attracts the attention of students so they don't get bored. (2) Opinions about whether there are certain criteria in the selection of media in the microteaching class. The media must be in accordance with the material to be taught to students, the media must be in accordance with the creativity of the teacher. (3) Opinions about the difficulties of using media in the microteaching class. Difficulty finding the right media with teaching materials and difficulties in the process of making it, there are many media that can be used and we can choose media, the media has been mastered also how to use it and choose media. (4) Opinions about the advantages of using media in the microteaching class. Media make it easier to explain a material and students are easier to understand, this media help in learning and make students more creative in learning, attracts students' attention because these students must be provoked in learning. (5) Opinions on how effective the use of media in the microteaching class is. The use of media is very effective in the learning process
