Abstract:
RISKA ROZA, NIM 1830104069, thesis title: "STUDENTS' OPINION TOWARD THE USE OF VIDEO RECORDING IN MICROTEACHING CLASS". English Tadris study program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. Micro teaching lectures carried out using video recordingbring up the different opinions from students who followed the microteaching lectures. Video recording in micro teaching lectures means students record their performance in teaching practice. The problem discussed in this study is that students' opinion about the use of video recording have not been described. The purpose of this study was to find out students' opinions about the use of video recording in the Micro Teaching class. This research method is a qualitative research method designs phenomenology. The informants of this research were 6 students who had taken Micro Teaching courses in the sixth semester of the 2021/2022 academic year using purposive sampling technique. In this research there were two instruments, the researcher as the main instrument and the interview guide as a supporting instrument. The data collection technique used is an in-depth interview technique. To test the validity of the data, the researchers conducted time triangulation and source triangulation to confirm and explore more detailed data related to the problem under study. Furthermore, to analyze the data, the researcher used the theory of Miles and Hubberman (1994), which includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusion and verification. The results showed that there were several student opinions about video recording in Micro Teaching class. Student opinions were: 1) positive opinion, they were: video recording in more flexible in time, video recording make students not nerveous, video recording make student much time to preparation, video recording make students knowing the weaknesses, video recording in feedback can improve the next performance and video recording in feedback can help students to revise the mistakes. 2) negative opinion, they were: students must take the video more than once, students have difficulty to gather the audience, students have difficulty to conditioning the place, student feel limited in displaying learning media, student not focus when taking videos, student have difficulty in making lesson plans and video recording makes phone memory full
